After looking at old pictures for decades I have discovered we look at them the same way every time.
We have an obvious focus in every picture. It is usually the person or subject the photo was taken to capture. And generally, due to the size of the photo, our eyes pretty much dismiss the rest of the image.
And then the photograph that originally fit in your hand is now blown up over a screen and all but forgotten details miraculously emerge.
Everything in the photo, ignored for years and in most cases never seen, awakens. You now are able to look at these photos with a whole new set of eyes.
Since you are well studied on the obvious, all the subtle parts of the image are revived and create a new interest in the photo.
Time to get those great photos out of that box and enjoy them.
