For the record, to me consulting is really a pretty starched term that just means talking.
When I get a call, the first conversation is very important. It tells me alot about the project and the person who is making it happen.
Ideally an informal conversation is a great vehicle to get the real direction I need to go.
To make the best of my work I encourage an open forum combining original ideas presented and suggestions that I may have or come up with in the flow.My job is not to win the idea contest, just to keep integrating all the ideas and staying open.
There are many solutions to a problem but you want to look at more than one to keep your options open and allow the possibility of blending them.
Ultimately I want the project to be successful and work for the idea or vision my client has.
